Unofficial Sagem PVR Issue TrackerGoto: Sagem discussion forums at PVR World or Digital Spy

Welcome to the new PVR issue tracker - 09 Feb 07 11:45 - Futaura [Announcement]
The aim of this resource is to catalog any bugs, issues or enhancement requests for the PVRs, which can also be easily tracked when resolved in future firmware updates (we can but hope!).

An organised database like this should at the very least allow bugs to be kept track of easier than before. This database used to be Sagem only, with my ultimate aim that Sagem themselves would view the contents of this database in one way or another, which will hopefully help bring better quality software to our PVRs. Unfortunately, after 12 months this never did happen, and Sagem did not even respond to my requests. As a result, I now have a Digihome PVR, and have made it possible to add bugs for this and other Vestel clones.

If you wish to report an issue, you'll need to sign up, and I would like to ask that you use the search feature to check a bug has not already been reported before adding a report yourself. Also, please make reports as concise and informative as possible, and please try to rule out the problem being caused by a low quality signal from your aerial. Remember that if the manufacturers' read your report, the more understandable it is, the more chance there is that they will understand the problem and hopefully fix it. So, please bear that in mind, but don't let it put you off making reports!

GET A REFUND NOW! - 11 Jan 07 03:54 - Futaura [Announcement]
Due to Sagem's incompetence and lack of positive software updates, I abandoned my PVR6240T a few months ago, under guarantee. I now have a Digihome PVR80 made by Vestel (http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?searchTerms=digihome [^] ) which I am very happy with, especially with the dual record software. I am particuarly pleased by Vestel's development rate and quality - software updates actually fix stuff, add working new features and don't break things that worked fine before! If you are looking for a budget PVR, then I wouldn't hestitate to recommend the Digihome - it may not be perfect, but it's far better value for money than a Sagem PVR!

If you are thinking of buying a Sagem PVR, don't! Most of the bugs listed here are still present in their latest PVRs and software versions, and Sagem just either don't care or don't know what they're doing! Go buy a different brand, and if you already bought one, don't bother hanging around for fixes (which I did) because they never come - try to get a refund instead, and buy something that works.
