DescriptionNot sure if I've got this right but here goes...

I have a Hitachi HDR325 which I gather is a re-badged Vestel machine. In the last few days it has been going into deep-standby when switched off via the remote, despite my de-selecting this option in the Configuration menu.

I see from this site that there has been a software update (to V4.6) and I was wondering if this had introduced a bug.
Steps To ReproduceSelect "Auto Power Down = Off" in the Configuration Menu but the box still powers off eventually.

You probably had "Low Power" set to "No" before? The update will have reset this to "Yes". It is advisable to use this option for stability and responsiveness, but you may wish to try changing this to see if it restores the behaviour that you are used to.

The "Auto Power Down" option simply switches the box to standby mode if you leave it on and don't touch the remote for 3 or 4 hours.

Yes, I had "Low Power = No" before and have returned it to this setting after the update.

When I press the "Off" button on the remote control after watching a programme, the display reverts to the clock and after a few hours goes dark. When I switch on next time the green light appears and it takes a significant length of time for the box to start producing an output. It does not go through the "LOAD" phase.

What I did notice, however, was that when I toggled between "Yes" and "No" for the "Low Power" setting on the Configuration menu the box seemed to freeze for a few seconds before continuing. I can't remember if it did this previously.

I've tried to reproduce the problem here, but my box is staying in normal standby for at least 12 hours with the clock still on display. This is with both low power and auto power down off.

All I can suggest for now is to perform a first time installation via the menus which will reset settings and perform a channel scan, and probably erase timers. Fingers crossed this might help.

These issues should be gone in the v5.2 software OAD which is currently being broadcast (until 9am on Monday 20th August), which will bring your box back to the v3.4 level of performance and reliability.
