Summary0042: Extreme unresponsiveness whilst recording
DescriptionUnfortunately, the new software introduced a new problem. Whilst recording a programme, the box often becomes extremely unresponsive - large delay (upto a minute or so) after pressing remote buttons. This happens when watching a channel that your are recording, or when you are watching a different channel. As soon as the recording has stopped (which can take a minute or two to happen if doing so manually), the responsiveness of the box returns to normal.

I have experienced this and during the unresponsive stage, I set the box to 'standby' and then back to 'on'. The box went through the 'init' stage, the recording was stopped and the recording timer entry is deleted.

I re-entered the recording timer setting and the recording restarted. I then set the box to 'standby' and back to 'on' and the recording was continuous throughout.

I have also experienced this problem but only when the time remaining is less than about 10 hours is there some sort of problem when you have used 75% or more of the hard disc?

I also experience this symptom when I press record (and record continuously). After a time, any remote functions take at least a minute to complete.

I found that the unit may reboot if I continue to use the remote while it is in it's unresponsive phase. If the recording is important to you, it is best to leave the unit and remote alone until it completes the recording.
Although it usually becomes unresponsive during a long recording, I have had this problem on other occasions. E.g. last week the unit was on for 1-2 hours for viewing purposes before it started a recording. 10 minutes into the recording it became unresponsive then rebooted after 2-10 (remote) button operations.
