The pvr keeps count of the reserved timer space including all repeat timers and flags a Disc Full error if a new timer won't fit the free space available. But it will then shorten the new timer until it thinks it will fit the space left, saying that the programme will record until the disc is actually full. This it does, but because the disc is nowhere near full, the recording continues indefinitely and only stops when another booked recording starts, or you manually stop it. It doesn't stop at the modified end time, nor the scheduled end time. No further timers can usually be added after the disc full message until space is freed up by deleting either timers or recordings.

Obviously this is more likely to happen when your drive is nearly full.It started on mine when about 75% full with about 12% free space as shown, the rest allocated to the timers list. The reserved display bar doesn't include any repeat timer space, so the free space shown contradicts it's own estimate.

I don't know what happens if you rely on auto-delete for space management.

This might also be related to 0096, since having done some further testing I found when the recording size is over 4Gb, this messes up recording size and the space left calculations.

Some time after reporting the runaway recording aspect of this bug, it stopped doing it, so it could have been simply an event recording issue. But I have also since stopped using the search option, which I now believe to be responsible for a lot of instability on these machines.

The space allocation problem still remains though. A partial workround is to change one or two daily timers to single timers before booking a recording. When it's booked you can change the timers back to daily, which it doesn't seem to object to so far.
