|Summary||0400: recordings skipping on playback|
|Description||Recordings skip a second or two when being played back. The machine has often done this occasionally, but never enough to be a problem. In the last few days it has been doing this constantly on new recordings. The recordings always skip in the same places, so I assume it is a problem with the recording and not the playback. Older recordings seem OK.|

Sounds like a poor signal on the aerial and/or interference, so check all connections and the signal quality meter on the manual channel scan screen. If you have moved things about behind your TV recently, it could interference from a nearby HDMI cable, for example.
It could also be weather related as atmospheric conditions can affect aerial signals. And make sure all air vents are clear and not obstructed (e.g. by placing another box on top of it), as the box could be overheating.

Thanks for your reply.
I managed to solve the problem, for now at least, in a surprisingly low tech way.
I tried doing the re-installation process and an automatic channel scan, but it made no difference. I then unplugged the machine and left it for a minute or two, plugged it back in and let it reboot. Then I did the new installation and auto channel scan and it's worked fine since then.
I've no idea why this would work though.

|Low power mode was on, but it wasn't always going on standby. It does that sometimes but doing a re-installation cures it. Could this be related to the recording problem?|

|Possibly. If it is showing the clock on the front panel and not entering standby, then it is probably timer related - either a corrupt timer list or a scheduled programme was not aired and it got stuck waiting forever for it to start. A first time installation will clear out the timer list, including any hidden entries.|
