|0051||T816||pip||public||09 Feb 07 14:33||10 Aug 07 16:30|
|Target Version||Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0051: PIP aspect ratio always incorrect|
|Description||In contrast to 0050 in the single record software where the PIP aspect ratio is only incorrect in 16:9 mode, the PIP aspect ratio never seems to be correct with the dual record software and is wrong in both 4:3 and 16:9 modes...|
When the main display is outputting 16:9. It's very easy to reproduce - make sure the box is set to 16:9 and either view a widescreen channel or use the WIDE button on the remote to force a 4:3 picture to be output as 16:9. Then press PIP and you will find that the picture on any channel (no matter if the channel is outputting a 4:3 or 16:9 picture) in the PIP will be stretched horizontally, leaving the PIP image "squished". It's even easier to see when viewing the same channel in PIP and the main display. This is the same symptom described in 0050.
Similarly, when in 4:3 mode instead, the PIP picture is noticably stretched vertically (top and bottom of picture are missing as a result, in addition to the aspect distortion).
See attachments for examples.
